Thanks for the mail. On the whole I was very happy with my trip to Lijiang and Shangrila, they are wonderful places.
Both guides were good and knowledgeable about the area. I was particularly liked the guide in Shangrila as his background made him an interesting person to talk to.
The only additional comments I would have is that I did mention I needed a mandarin speaker (as well as English), however the Shangrila guide had limited Mandarin to explain some of the attractions, but my girlfriend was able to understand his English so there was little impact.
The itinerary was quite relaxed which suited our pace but maybe we could have spent more time to discuss this with the possibility of doing more in the time I had.
Overall I am happy and thank you for your assistance.
